Assignment Nine

A few of my friends form anime club and I went to the anime convention, Acen. When we came close to the entrance, people in wild, vivid costume were everywhere. I looked around try to spot some characters that I may know. Then we saw a guy in a weird furry costume that was holding a free hugs sign. So we all got free hugs. Then we finally entered the building. There was a ton of people everywhere, but it still wasn’t that crowded, but you could never really hear anything. There was a ton of people chatting, random music playing and people just shouting random stuff. We get our name tags and enter more into the building. Now there was hardly any room to stand, and where ever you walked you had to squeeze past people. But we were able to do a lot of things, like take pictures of the randomly dressed people, get rick rolled, and chase a giant box of pokey.

I used detail to explain the costumes people were wearing, how the crowds were in the building, what I heard in the building, and what we did. I think the details add a fun and crazy type of mood by explaining how everyone looked, what my surrounding was like, and what the convention was like. I used words like vivid and weird to tell how the mood was during the convention and I tell how nothing can really be heard by telling how there was so much noise. The guy with the free hugs sign was just one of the weird things we saw but it was pretty weird and crazy, but still very fun. The crowds at first were very dispersed but as we got further in they got more crowded, and I mention how you had to travel to get anywhere. Even though the convention was very chaotic, I tell that we were still able to do some things and still have a good time. No dialogue was included in this piece. I think this piece tells that I actually am a fun loving person, who does crazy things sometimes. I usually am quiet and don’t do much, but really I do a lot and have a lot to say. The convention was a crazy event and I was pretty crazy along with it. Most people think I only shy and timid, but I not as shy and timid as they think, they just haven’t really gotten to know me.

  1. i felt like you passage also showed that when you are in your element you have no restrictions to your actions. most people wouldnt hug a guy in a weird furry outfit, and chase things around, but you did because you were comfortable and you were having fun.

  2. Yes that's true. I felt more comfortable and more like I could be myself, even though it was a pretty crazy place.
